POLICE have charged a 14-year-old boy following a fire at a Galashiels Primary School.
Only the quick actions of local fire-fighters prevented any damage at Balmoral Primary on Saturday evening.
Education bosses had captured the incident on CCTV.
And an appeal was made through the Border Telegraph for any witnesses to come forward.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman told us: "A teenager has been charged following a suspicious fire at a primary school in Galashiels on Saturday.
"We would like to thank the public for their assistance during this appeal."
The 14-year-old will now be reported to the Children's Reporter.
