FORMULA One racing’s favourite vocalist is about to race into Galashiels.
And Alistair Griffin will be slowing down his sports, as he has agreed to perform in the clubrooms of Gala Bowling Club.
The singer/songwriter is synonymous with Sky’s TV coverage for Formula One.
Alistair’s song Just Drive is heard all around the world as the theme tune for the high-speed racing coverage.
His arrival in the Borders is part of his 12 date UK tour.
A lover of performing in unique and interesting venues, he will play a set at Galashiels Bowling Club on Scott Crescent on Sunday, November 19.
Alistair said: “I love playing in interesting places, and believe it or not I have a passion for bowls and have even played in the World Qualifiers and European Masters.
“So, I thought what better place for a gig?”
The singer has enjoyed a successful career, having written and performed with Robin Gibb amongst others.
And he spent this summer singing at festivals, including Chris Evans’s CarFest and Alex James’s Big Feastival, as well as entertaining Formula One fans at Silverstone.
His music is also well-known with the TV coverage of big sporting occasions including the Tour de France, Wimbledon, The Open and the Olympics.
