INITIAL tests carried out on heroin samples recovered in Galashiels have not found any traces of potent painkiller Fentanyl.
A total of 11 addicts from the Galashiels area were rushed to Borders General Hospital over the weekend.
Both doctors and police believed the presence of Fentanyl, which has caused the deaths of around 100 addicts across the UK this year, was the cause.
And officers, wearing protective clothing, raided a property in the town's Winston Road the following day.
The synthetic opiod is 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than methadone.
But tests have come back negative today (Thursday).
