LANGLEE Primary has been without running water today after pipes at the school froze.
But the new £10 million facility, which opened earlier this year, remained open to pupils.
Temperatures dropped to around -6 degrees this morning, causing the supply to be cut off.
However Scottish Borders Council have said they were able to keep the school open as “contingency plans” were put in place.
An SBC spokesperson said: “Due to the extremely cold weather, like many properties across the country, we have experienced some issues with the plumbing at Langlee Primary School.
"Contingency plans were quickly put in place and we were able to keep the school open.”
Light snow is forecast for Galashiels overnight, with temperatures set to drop to -2 degrees.
