EDUCATION chiefs have confirmed pupils at Melrose Primary are 'safe', following a suspected gas leak at the school.
The Border Telegraph understands Scottish Gas have attended the scene to resolve the problem, which was discovered this morning (Thursday).
A spokesperson for Melrose Primary said: "There has been a suspected gas leak in the main school building.
"The gas has been turned off at the mains. All the children are safe."
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed they had been made aware of the incident.
