TRAVELLERS on the Borders Railway face disruption this morning after a vehicle collided with a bridge.

The incident, which happened at Newcraighall, will affect ScotRail services between Edinburgh and Tweedbank.

In a statement at 10am, ScotRail said: "Staff are currently on-site examining the bridge so we'll update as soon as we have more info."

Tickets for rail services will be accepted on Borders Buses services between Edinburgh Waverley, Eskbank, Newtongrange, Gorbridge, Stow and Galashiels on bus route X95.

Those travelling to and from Tweedbank can change at Galashiels to use the X62 bus service.

Train tickets and smart cards are also being accepted on Lothian Buses between Edinburgh, Brunstane, Newcraighall, Shawfair, Eskbank, Newtongrange and Gorebridge.

UPDATE at 11.30am: Services are now running as normal
