A SEX offender who failed to inform his supervising officer that he was travelling abroad or notify police that he had a passport has been fined a total of £250 at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
Jonathan Field, 27, of Lothian Road, pleaded guilty to the offences which happened in September and October.
The court was told that he had travelled to Greece without notifying his supervising officer as required under the Sexual Offences Notifications requirements.
Defence lawyer Ed Hulme said: "It was a pre-booked holiday and an honest oversight. "There is no malice behind it."
