MOTORISTS are set to face disruption next month as overnight resurfacing work is carried out by the entrance to Borders General Hospital.

The warning comes as members of the public will start to see the formation of the traffic islands required for the new signals over the next week.

Installation works for the traffic signals have been completed.

The bell-mouth into the Borders General Hospital is being widened to allow the road to be resurfaced during the week commencing Monday, March 12.

Amey SE Trunk Roads said: "Some minor tweaks have been made to the temporary traffic light system, but there do not appear to have been any significant impacts so far.

"We would like to thank road users for their compliance so far, but to remember that as work on the site is progressing it is important to pay attention to the temporary signs that are put out."

"There will be night works around Monday, March 12 to undertake road re-surfacing work with a complete closure of the A6091 at this location.

"A temporary diversion route will be in operation from 7pm until 6am.

"Ambulances will continue to have access through the works."
