AN elderly woman was rushed to hospital following a three-car crash on the A7 yesterday evening.
The incident happened at around 5.20pm near the Kingsknowe Roundabout.
The woman had to be cut free from her Peugeot 206 vehicle and was rushed to Borders General Hospital with minor injuries.
And the road was closed for two hours by police.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We had a call at 5.20pm yesterday about a three-car collision involving a Peugeot 206, a Skoda Octavia and a Volvo XC90 near the Kingsknowe Roundabout.
"Fire crews and the ambulance service also attended and an elderly female had to be cut free from the Peugeot. She was conscious and breathing and taken to Borders General Hospital with minor injuries.
"The road was reopened at 7.30pm."
The incident is the second on the stretch this week.
On Tuesday a biker was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash near Boleside.
