Heroin
THE highest ever number of drug-related deaths was recorded in the Borders during 2016.
Figures just released by the Scottish Government show that a total of ten people died because of drugs during the 12 months.
The previous highest number of deaths in a calendar year was eight - in 2010, 2014 and 2015.
Figures for 2017 won't be available until next year.
