UP to 50 jobs are being created with the opening of a new £4million Home Bargains store in Galashiels this weekend.

The Stirling Street outlet, which is due to be opened on Saturday at 8am, replaces the smaller Channel Street store which closes the day before.

Joe Morris, operations director at Home Bargains, told the Border Telegraph: “We’re thrilled to be launching this flagship store in Galashiels and look forward to welcoming customers through the doors.”

The 25,000 sq ft store, which has previously been a Co-Op and B&M, will offer shoppers a range of products, including homewares, health and beauty essentials, sweets, snacks and drinks, as well as fresh and frozen food.

Joe added: “Stirling Street will be a great location for us and we’re proud to be able to offer local people top-branded goods at exceptionally low prices.”

With more than four million customers each week, Home Bargains is one of the country’s best-loved discount retailers, stocking top-quality branded goods at low prices.
