THERE'S bad news for swimmers in Galashiels this morning (Friday, July 6).
Live Borders have confirmed that Galashiels Swimming Pool is currently closed due to a 'mechanical breakdown' of the air handling unit.
The news comes off the back of the closure of the pool at Hawick's Teviotdale Leisure Centre. The pool was closed for several hours on Thursday due to the late delivery of CO2.
In a statement, the culture, sport and leisure trust said: "The Galashiels Swimming Pool will unfortunately be closed today (Friday, July 6) and over the weekend due to a breakdown with the air handling unit.
"We are hoping to be reopen in time for Monday afternoon's swimming lessons.
"Members and pool users are encouraged to take advantage of sessions at our other pools at Selkirk, Hawick, Kelso, Eyemouth or Peebles."
