TO kick off their tenth birthday celebrations, Peebles community choir InChorus teamed up with some friends from America.
The Peebles singers joined the Contemporary Youth Orchestra from Cleveland, Ohio, for a concert at the Central Halls in Edinburgh.
The touring orchestra is an ensemble devoted to preparing high school students for a confident career in the performing arts. Under the direction of their founder conductor, Liza Grossman, they they played their ‘Led Zeppelin Suite’, including, ‘Stairway to Heaven’, which was already a favourite InChorus number.
For their part, InChorus mirrored the orchestra with a set of vibrant upbeat well known pieces.
Their acapella pieces, in particular, were very well received.
The concert ended with the orchestra and choir combining in a memorable performance of Christopher Tin’s ‘Kia Hora’.
Senior choir manager Moira Pearson said: “This was definitely a lovely gig for InChorus to be part of.
"To perform in a beautiful venue with great acoustics, with such a talented young group was inspirational.”
