TWO men have been rushed to hospital following a two vehicle crash on the A7 between Galashiels and Stow.

Emergency service teams were called to the scene, near the Bowland junction, after two vans collided at around 1.30pm this afternoon.

And it has been confirmed a man in his 20s and another in his 40s have been taken to Borders General Hospital for treatment, after becoming trapped.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 1340 to attend a road traffic accident near the B710 junction with the A7 north of Galashiels.

"We dispatched two ambulances and a special operations team to the scene and transported two male patients – one in his 20s, the other in his 40s – to the Borders General Hospital.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson added: "Two vans collided on the A7 at around 1.30pm.

"The drivers were trapped and it took around one hour to get them out."
