ASPIRING artists in the Borders are being challenged to turn rubbish into masterpieces.
Charity Young Scot is calling for youngsters to turn recycled materials into sculptures for a national competition.
The Junk Art Challenge is looking for three pieces to go on display at Go Live the Green festival during the Glasgow 2018 European Championships.
Artists aged between 16 and 26, have until Thursday, July 26, to submit their initial ideas.
And if they are successful, they will be given £1,000 to turn their design into a real-life sculpture.
Louise Macdonald, chief executive of Young Scot, said: “The Junk Art Challenge is one of our most ambitious art projects to date.
“As parts of the Year of Young People 2018, we’re calling on the Scottish Borders’ young artists to showcase their creativity and inspire young people to see recycling and sustainability in a whole new light.
“Everyone is welcome to visit Go Live at the Green and help young people bring their amazing ideas to life.”
