A MAJOR new push to bring top musicians to Innerleithen kicks off next month with the arrival of The Delgados star Emma Pollock and sensational new artist Bryde.

And you can enjoy the show for free.

On The Brinck Promotions are hoping to stage a monthly showcase at Innerleithen Memorial Hall.

And they have lined up a cracking triple bill to get the ball rolling.

Phil Walker from On The Brinck Promotions told us: "We're hoping these events will happen monthly and will feature some big comedy tour shows as well as the best in upcoming music.

"We are trying to increase engagement with the arts by making these events free entry - where possible - and then asking for donations at the end - in a similar way to Free Fringe shows at the Edinburgh Fringe festival.

"We think that Innerleithen is ideally placed, between Peebles and Galashiels, with good transport links to make shows that, otherwise you would have to travel to Edinburgh or Glasgow to see, more accessible."

Pollock was a founding member of The Delgados more than 20 years ago.

And she was also a driving force in the formation of the highly-influential Chemikal Underground label.

For the past 13 years Emma has continued to be one of Scotland's best-loved and consistent performers and songwriters.

And her latest album, In Search of Harperfield, was shortlisted for a The SAY Award.

In Innerleithen, Emma will be share the billing with Bryde, who is fresh from performances at Latitude Festival, Deer Shed Festival, Standon Calling Festival, LEOPALLOOZA, Ynot Festival, Boardmasters, Bingley Music Live, 110 Above Festival and a sold out London headline show at the amazing OMEARA.

In support will be talented local singer-songwriter Millie, who hails from Peebles.

Phil added: "There is an existing music community in Innerleithen with brilliant places like The Vale Club and The Traquair Arms hosting regular music nights as well as the superb annual Innerleithen Music Festival and it would be great if we could add to this and work together to encourage more people to support these events.

"If people are interested in coming along they can register for free tickets at www.onthebrinck.co.uk or call 07930 275891 to have their name added to the guest list.

"There will also be physical tickets to collect in person from the wonderful No 1 Peebles Road in Innerleithen."

Bryde, Millie and Emma Pollock will play Innerleithen on Friday, September 21.

A bar and food will be available inside the venue, with doors opening at 7pm.
