VANDALS have struck at a Borders play park, just weeks after it opened.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage after Wilton Lodge Park in Hawick was targeted earlier this week.
A council spokesperson said: "We are disappointed that Wilton Lodge Park’s popular play park has been targeted by vandals this week, with damage to the safety surfacing.
"With a number of new play parks opening this summer, and more to follow in communities across the Borders in the coming years, we would ask those using them to play your part and respect these community facilities."
