THE A68 south of the Carter Bar has reopened to traffic following a 'serious injury collision' earlier this morning.
Emergency services were called to the A68 just north of Rochester in Northumberland before 7.30am after a report of a crash between a car and a HGV.
The incident closed the road in both directions between Scotland and England for nearly nine hours.
Northumbria Police have thanked drivers for their patience and understanding.
