A SUPPORT service in the Borders has received a five-star review from the care watchdog.

Eildon Housing Association's Station Avenue service in Duns was given 'Very Good' across the cards by the Care Inspectorate.

Although this service has received consistently high marks from the Care Inspectorate, the recent report, following an inspection in November, has gone one better.

The Care Inspector concluded: “...service users were supported in a person centred manner and their views, choices and preferences were at the forefront of the care and support received.

“Staff were confident and committed to providing the best possible care to service users by taking the lead in many different areas within the service to enable them to do this."

Eildon Station Avenue Outreach provides care at home and a housing support service provided to Adults with a Learning Disability living in Berwickshire.

The service is provided from a small housing development in Duns.

Nile Istephan, Chief Executive of Eildon, is delighted with the report. He said: “It is very satisfying to receive this excellent report from the Care Inspectorate on the service that Eildon staff deliver at Station Avenue.

"We have received excellent feedback from service users and their families across all aspects of our service, especially around how well we communicate and engage with them on all aspects of their needs.

"Eildon Housing Association are committed to continual improvement in our activities, whether that be in housing, new development or the delivery of high quality care services.”
