THIEVES have broken into and stolen two motocross bikes from a Selkirk business.

The incident happened sometime overnight between Monday and Tuesday (April 16 and 17) at the Benchmark Motor Company on Dunsdale Road.

Inquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible and anyone with information is asked to come forward.

One of the bikes is a green and white Kawasaki KX 450S and the other is a red and white Honda CR450.

Detective Constable Callum Peoples from Galashiels CID said: "In addition to carrying out inquiries to trace the culprits, we are also keen to hear from anyone who comes across these bikes, either by seeing them out on the streets, or if you are approached by anyone looking to sell them on.

"If you believe you saw any suspicious activity around Dunsdale Road on Monday evening or early Tuesday morning then please contact police immediately.

"Similarly, if you have any other information relevant to our investigation then please also get in touch."
