GREEN fingered apprentices at Scottish Borders Council have been getting their hands dirty at College.
A total of 20 of the horticultural employees at the local authority have commenced their studies.
Eight students, funded by Skills Development Scotland, have started their first year on the SVQ Level 2 in the Amenity Horticulture course.
A further 12 are now into their second year of the Level 2 course at Borders College.
Course Tutor Nigel Gibb told us: “This is a fantastic partnership with Scottish Borders Council, providing their employees with an excellent training opportunity and ensuring SBC continues to have a skilled work force in the future.” Each student studies on a day-release basis, attending one day per week at College.
