PLANS have been unveiled for a new supermarket on the edge of Duns.
The Co-op is proposing to move from its current outlet in the town’s Newtown Street to a one-hectare site next to the former Berwickshire High School.
The move would see the size of store almost double.
Bosses at the Co-op claim the current store is too small with narrow aisles, insufficient check-out space and not enough room for to offer a full range of products.
The full planning application for the one-hectare site at Langtongate is also for a new 64-space car park.
Planners at Scottish Borders Council will consider the application over the coming months.
