A DRUNKEN Stow teenager pulled the wing mirror from a car parked outside and head-butted the vehicle after leaving an 18th birthday party.

At Selkirk Sheriff Court on Monday, Sean Keene, 18, of Station Road, admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at Galashiels Road, Stow on March 29, and damaging a vehicle there.

Prosecutor Tessa Bradley said Keene had been a guest at the party but “his behaviour was such that he was asked to leave.” She added: “He was abusive, shouting and swearing.” A neighbour, whose car was parked outside, heard the noise and looked out of the window to see the accused damaging her vehicle.

Defence solicitor Iain Burke said his client had little recollection of the offence. He explained: “He had been avoiding alcohol, but over-indulged on this occasion.” Keene, who previously had sentence deferred for six months for good behaviour, was fined £150
