A PASSION for the past has brought boutique owner Lynsay Munnis back to the catwalk for another fundraising fashion show.

Last year Lynsay’s Bustle Boutique raised more than £600 for the Kelso-based Border Children’s Charity.

She is back this year with another stunning collection of brocade evening dresses from the 1950s and 60s as well as other classic cuts.

Around 120 fashion conscious ladies packed into the Eastgate Theatre in Peebles last year.

And it is hoped the event will be even bigger this time as it moves to the larger venue of the Macdonald Cardrona Hotel.

Lynsay, who has now joined the committee of the Borders Children’s Charity, told us: “The Macdonald Cardrona Hotel are kindly sponsoring the event by providing their function rooms. “Many, many local people and businesses have become involved in this event - from models to graphic designers - and we have also been lucky enough to attract two live bands and dancers who will perform in vintage style to compliment the 60 or so original vintage ballgowns and party dresses.

“We hope it will be a packed evening.” The Border Children’s Charity has been helping local youngsters for over 45 years.

During 2013 they supported 172 different applications worth £28,839.

As well as providing clothing, footwear and furniture for children in most need, they also pay for short breaks and school trips.

The 2014 Bustle Vintage Fashion Show will take place at the Macdonald Cardrona Hotel on Friday, November 14.

As well as stylish designs from across the ages there will be entertainment from the Biggar Big Band and the Fiona Henderson School of Dance.

There will also be an after show party, complete with live band.

Tickets are currently available from the Moy Mackay Gallery in Peebles or via Ann Wood on either 01896 820 263 or ann@scottsview.co.uk.
