Fifty firefighters tackled a major blaze at a house in the Borders.
Two fire engines initially attended a chimney fire at a detached house in Kingsmeadows Road, Peebles, shortly after 6pm on Friday.
But other crews were called in from Edinburgh and neighbouring towns after the blaze swept through the ground and first floor of the property.
Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service attended, but there were no reported casualties.
However, the two-storey property was extensively damaged.
Peter Heath, the deputy assistant chief fire officer for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, said: “This was a serious fire that caused extensive damage. The fire quickly took hold - it was made worse due to the weather conditions. The firefighting was external due to the prevailing conditions.
“Two persons had left the premises before we arrived and they are safe and well.”
