STUDENTS on the Introduction to Landbased Industries/Animal Care course at Borders College had the opportunity to test out their ‘woodworking’ skills when asked to carve out a Celtic cross for Ravenswood Estate near Melrose.
The eight foot cross, carved out of Scot’s Pine, will be sited near the Coffee shop on the estate.
Tutor Andy Winwood said: “This was an unusual request for us – but our students were up for the challenge. And the finished result is quite stunning.” Pictured are: Curtis McCaig, Alex McSorley, Emma Chapman, Nathan Rook-Munro, and Mark Cusick.
