A HAWICK man has admitted spitting in the face of an employee at Borders General Hospital and directing racial comments towards him.
Twenty-six-year-old Shane Barr of Burnfoot Road, pleaded guilty at Selkirk Sheriff Court to the offences which happened in the accident and emergency department during the early hours of Saturday, March 28.
He also admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at Galashiels Police Station on the previous night by repeatedly kicking a door, making threats towards police officers and their families and struggling violently with the officers.
Sheriff Peter Paterson said that due to the nature of the offences background reports were inevitable.
Sentence was deferred until September 14.
