A HAWICK teenager has appeared in private at Jedburgh Sheriff Court in connection with the incident which resulted in 10 young males being hospitalised after taking an unidentified substance.
Nineteen-year-old Jamie Bonnor Thomson was charged with culpable and reckless conduct.
It follows 10 males aged between 14 and 18 falling ill after consuming what police described as a pink-coloured tablet.
They were all treated at Borders General Hospital and later discharged.
Thomson made no plea or declaration and the case was continued for further examination. He was remanded in custody by Sheriff Peter Paterson.
He is expected to appear in court again within eight days.
