POLICE in the Borders are appealing for witnesses after thieves made off with two tractors and two trailers worth almost £70,000.

The vehicles were taken from tractor suppliers WM Dodds at Old Bongate Mill near Jedburgh between 7.20pm on Monday and 7 am on Tuesday.

They were seen at around 5.45am on Tuesday morning near Lilliesleaf, and later spotted heading north towards Edinburgh.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the Blue 'L' registered Ford Tractor pulling a large red coloured Redrock trailer in the company of a Green '08' registered John Deere tractor pulling a similar trailer from Jedburgh.

Anyone with information should contact Hawick Police Station on 01450 375 051.
