A 35-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested after police discovered heroin with a street value of £32,000 in an abandoned car in the Borders.
Officers carried out a search of the vechile in Ayton, near Eyemouth on Thursday 18th February and recovered half a kilo of the Class A drug.
Following enquiries, a search was undertaken of a property whereby a male was detained and a quantity of ecstasy and amphetamine were seized.
The man was charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act and made a first appearance at Selkirk Sheriff Court yesterday (March 1).
DCI Linda Little said: "Whilst we are continuing to target those concerned in the supply of class A drugs and we are receiving information from the public, I have no doubt that the public in the Scottish Borders are aware of possible criminal activity that does not always come to police attention.
"I would urge members of the public to pass on their concerns and information so that we can act on it. Information can be passed on anonymously via Crimestoppers. If you want to stop the dealers in your community then people can help by speaking to us"
Anyone with any information should contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131, or Crimestoppers in confidence and complete anonymity on 0800 555 111.
