BORDERERS affected by diabetes are being invited to join a new support group in Galashiels at Trieste House in Bridge Street.
The meeting, which will be held at 11am on Saturday, September 10, is free to attend and refreshments will be available.
Lorraine McAuley, Diabetes Scotland volunteer support officer, said: “We have over 30 established local groups across Scotland where people can come together to share information and experience of diabetes with others in a similar situation.
“Group members provide support for one another but they also organise fun social events, fundraisers, and arrange for expert guest speakers to attend meetings.”
There are over 280,000 people living with diabetes in Scotland, including over 6,400 in the NHS Borders area.
For further information about the new group in Borders please contact Lorraine McAuley at Diabetes Scotland via e-mail lorraine.mcauley@diabetes.org.uk or telephone 0141 245 6380.
