PLANS have been unveiled to turn a former town centre hotel in Galashiels into a private dwelling.
David Owen wants to convert the 11-bedroom King's Hotel in Market Street.
The New King's Temperance Hotel opened on November 13, 1911 - just a week after the official opening of the Pavilion Theatre and Cinema.
It replaced the original King's Temperance Hotel which stood on the corner of Overhaugh Street.
The King's Hotel on Market Street was built on the site of an earlier hotel, The Volunteer Arms,
The building had been used as homeless accommodation in recent years up to its closure in 2014.
It had been on the market at offers over £395,000.
Mr Owen has applied for change of use permission on the listed building as well as permission to carry out internal alterations.
The applications will be considered by Scottish Borders Council over the coming months.
