Police issue appeal following vandalism spree in Galashiels

VANDALS caused an untold amount of damage after going on a wrecking spree in Galashiels at the weekend.

Eight cars had their wing mirrors kicked off in one night - five Island Street and three in Gala Park.

And the first floor window of a commercial premises in Roxburghe Street was also smashed by a snooker ball throwing yob.

All the damage was done in the early hours of Saturday, September 15.

Meanwhile, stone-throwing yobs smashed a double glazed bathroom window at a house in High Buckholmside, Galashiels, on Sunday, September 16, sometime between half past midnight and 7.30am.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them at Galashiels Police Station on 01896 752222. Alternatively, freephone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
