A RECORD number of entries have been received for this year's Braw Lads' Gathering Best Dressed Window Competition.

And now we are asking Border Telegraph readers to help us choose a winner.

Photographs of staff at each of the 23 shops and businesses entered - ten more than last year - have been uploaded to our page on social-networking site Facebook.

We are inviting you to Like your favourite. And, in a new twist this year, a guest judge, still to be announced, will decide the winner from the three with the most Likes. Voting closes at midday on Wednesday, June 25, and the winner will be revealed the following day.

The winning window will win the Border Telegraph shield and a special prize, and there are goodies for the runner-up as well.

Last year the trophy was won by Annie's Cafe in King Street, Galashiels, while Age Scotland, in Channel Street, were named runner-up.

Border Telegraph Editor Ally McGilvray said: "We'd like to thank everyone who has taken the time to enter, we really do appreciate all the time and effort that goes into creating these displays.

"While our photographs might not do them all justice, we hope they will encourage our readers to visit them to have a closer look during the Braw Lads' Gathering week."
