GALASHIELS has dropped Langlee from the town’s community council.
Secretary Tracey Alder confirmed the decision when community councillors met this month. It followed consultation with Langlee Residents Association.
Community councillors agreed there was no need for Langlee to be named separately in the council’s title as it was part of Galashiels.
Galashiels and Langlee Community Council will now be known as Galashiels Community Council, which represents the whole area.
The community council meets upstairs in the Burgh Chambers on the first Wednesday of every month.
The public are invited to attend to raise any local concerns.
Meanwhile, it was also confirmed that William Brown is no longer a community councillor in Galashiels.
He was kicked out after he failed to attend six meetings in a row.
