A GALASHIELS guide has achieved the highest award possible.
Anna Houston who is a member of the 1st Galashiels Guide Unit, was presented with her Baden-Powell Challenge Award recently by Alison Henry, her Guide Leader, at a special Penguin themed party held during the Guide weekly meeting.
It was attended by her family, friends and the rest of the Guide Unit. All the girls enjoyed this special evening, playing Penguin games & activities, as Anna’s favourite animal is a Penguin. A wonderful snowy/penguin cake was made by Anna’s mum & loved by all.
Anna has gained the highest award a guide can achieve, by completing ten different challenges.
Some of these were, organising a birthday party for her younger brother, celebrating a festival from another culture & using her IT skills to make a new resource for the guide unit.
She also gained several badges, including Cook & Outdoor Pursuits.
Anna also joined guides from Edinburgh for her Baden Powell Adventure weekend.
