POLICE are appealing for help to help trace a 64-year-old man reported missing from Galashiels.

Thomas Johnstone was last seen in the town at 10am yesterday (Monday) and concern is now growing for his welfare.

Thomas relies on regular medication that he won't have access to.

He is described as white, 6ft 2inches tall, with short grey hair and a beard.

He has a muscular build and was last seen wearing blue trousers, a grey/green Karrimor 3/4 length jacket, a black striped polo top and black training shoes.

Inspector Kevin Harris said: "We are eager to establish Thomas's whereabouts as soon as possible and anyone who believes they have seen him since Monday is asked to come forward.

"In addition, if Thomas hears this appeal, we would ask that he get in touch with friends, family or police and let us know that he is safe and well."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland as soon as possible on 101.
