A GALASHIELS-based champion of Scotland’s world-famous fashion and textile industry has issued a rallying call to encourage local secondary school pupils to become part of the next generation of those behind the trade.

Rosemary Eribé, Managing Director and founder of Eribé Knitwear, will have the chance to promote career options within the textile industry among young people when the company takes part in the pioneering Stitch in Time festival at Dumfries House in Ayrshire next week.

Eribé Knitwear, a knitwear design house and manufacturer established in 1986, are set to participate in the festival alongside some of the biggest names in fashion, including world-famous designer Christopher Kane, Patrick Grant from The Great British Sewing Bee and professionals linked to high-end fashion houses such as Prada, Chanel, and Vivienne Westwood.

Rosemary said: “Eribé is excited to be part of this fabulous opportunity to bring Scottish brands and manufacturers together. This event will give students a glimpse into the exciting world of textiles. Together we can build a strong “Made in Scotland” reputation.” “Eribé are using this opportunity to enjoy a team day out, where we can meet and exchange ideas from fellow makers and future textile colleagues.”
