GALASHIELS residents are being encouraged to get involved in the wide range of activities taking place at the Langlee Early Years Centre.

As well as the normal activities on offer at the Centre, they are currently running two new courses funded by the Big Lottery Community and Families Fund.

Wild About Dads is a Saturday morning group for fathers and male carers of children aged 0 to eight. It is a chance for them to connect with nature and spend quality time with their children and other dads.

On August 22, and 29, the group takes place in the Langlee Community Woodlands – meet in the Langlee Community Centre carpark. From September 5, they will meet in the Langlee Community Centre for indoor fun and games. The sessions run from from 10am to 11.30am.

Every Wednesday evening, a free activity club is being held in the Centre for families and children (aged five to eight years).

From football and gardening through to baking, multi-sport, nature trail and family discos, there is something for everyone. The sessions run from 6pm to 7.30pm.

The centre offers a range of drop-in facilities and programmes for parents and children aged nine months to eight years from the Galashiels area.
