PARTS of Denholm have been left without power after a crash near the village in the early hours of this morning.
A Vauxhall Corsa smashed into a telegraph pole at around 12.30am today.
It is understood the vehicle left the A698 close to Denholm Bridge.
Much of the village was left without power.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the crash.
PC Gary Brown who is based in Hawick, said: “Fortunately, no one sustained serious injury as a result of this incident however, anyone who saw this vehicle prior to the collision is asked to get in touch with police on 101 or through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
The male driver of the blue-coloured Vauxhall Corsa and his three passengers were all taken to Borders General Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The road has remained closed for much of today to allow for Scottish Power engineers to repair the broken power line.
The A698 is expected to reopen to traffic later this evening.
