HAWICK is set to become alive with music as an award-winning trio roll into town.

Red Sky July have announced their new mini album and subsequent tour dates across Scotland.

The band will be performing at The Border Club in Hawick on Saturday, September 24 at 7.30pm.

Titled 'Voyager', the album will feature a small collection of new songs, and will act as a sister release to the band's March 2016 full length studio collection, 'The Truth and The Lie'.

The band, made up of Shelly Poole (Alisha's Attic), Ally McErlaine (Texas) and Charity Hair (The Alice Band), felt there way more stories they could tell.

"The album felt like it needed a sister for some reason, we are always working in the studio on new material and we just felt like the story of The Truth and The Lie had more layers to it", explains Shelly.

Mixed with a hazy blend of Alt-country and Americana, the tracks from 'Voyager' ooze the signature sound of Red Sky July.

The album's six tracks, 'House of Cards', 'What Are We Doing Here', '1972 Onwards', 'Like My Man', 'Voyager' and 'The Longest Time'.

The band have received significant airtime, having been playlisted on BBC Radio 2, they have also dominated the UK Country Chart, plus supported artists such as Sheryl Crow, Tom Jones and Jools Holland.

The trio have also performed at a number of high profile festivals such as Glastonbury, T in the Park, Isle of Wight and Cornbury, which have propelled them into the spotlight.

After forming in 2009, the band's self-titled debut arrived in 2011, with a follow up album, 'Shadowbirds' arriving in 2014.

The bands successes have continued to build, following their last release in March picking up glowing reviews. They collected a stream of five star reviews from the Guardian newspaper, Country Music People, Music News and BBC Radio 2.

Red Sky July's talents have also scooped them a prestigious Tartan Clef award by Nordoff-Robins Music Therapy at the Scottish Music Awards.
