PLANS to build one of the largest windfarms in southern Scotland near Hawick have been unveiled.
International renewable energy firm RES wants to erect 37 turbines - between 125 metres and 150 metres high - at Highlee Hill above the village of Chesters.
The site, which is a mixture of farmland and forestry, is just over seven miles from Hawick.
A scoping request has been submitted with Scottish Borders Council and plans are in place to hold a series of consultation meetings with community councils in nearby Hobskirk, Southdean and Newcastleton.
