A 63-year-old woman has been charged with careless driving, after she collided with a motorcycle near Jedburgh yesterday.

The 57-year-old motorcyclist suffered a serious leg injury in the crash, which happened on the A68 at around 2pm.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Border Telegraph: "Police in the Borders can confirm that a 63-year-old woman has been charged under Section 3 of the Road Traffic Act Scotland, following a road traffic collision on the A68 near to Jedburgh.

"The incident happened at around 2pm on Sunday, October 2, when a black Volkswagen Passat collided with a Triumph motorcycle. 

"The 57-year-old male motorcyclist suffered a serious leg injury and was taken by the Scottish Ambulance Service to Borders General Hospital for treatment. 

"A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
