A LANDROVER “caused considerable damage” after smashing into a house in Jedburgh.

Police revealed the parked vehicle rolled down a hill after its handbrake apparently failed.

No-one was injured during the drama in the town’s Jedbank Drive on August 13.

It was one of a number of “incidents of note” reported to this month’s meeting of The Royal Burgh of Jedburgh Community Council.

Elsewhere, a man suffered a broken jaw during a large disturbance “where a number of people were fighting” in the town’s High Street on August 10. A man was arrested in connection with the assault.

A female was arrested for allegedly attempting to head butt a police officer in Jedburgh on August 17.

On August 8, a “Yes” banner was reportedly vandalised at Linthaugh Farm by someone scrawling the world “No” over it.

Enquiries were this week ongoing into the theft of money from The Royal British Legion in Jedburgh on August 30.

Property was also reported stolen from a house in Priors Meadow after thieves opened a rear downstairs window which had been left on a latch on September 5.

And community councillors heard enquiries were ongoing after a male was allegedly assaulted by another male in Abbey Place, Jedburgh, on September 7.
