THE new Head Team at Kelso High School revealed one of their priorities for the year ahead was to create a special space for six year students.
Head Boy Jack Logan and Head Girl Monica Walker lined up for a special photoshoot organised by the Border Telegraph this week.
They were joined by Deputy Head Boy Logan Palmer and Deputy Head Girl Kate Thomson The Head Team revealed they plan to convert a room, which is currently used for coffee mornings, into a sixth year common room - which it is believed would be a first for the school.Monica, aged 16, explained: “It is a school-wide idea, there are 79 S6 pupils and we think they should have a dedicated space.” The Head Team is also tasked with organising fundraising events throughout the year and meeting regularly with Mrs Adams, the teacher in charge of S6.
Kate Thomson added: “At Kelso, although the Head Team directs plans, all school activities - such as fundraising and organising events - are run by committees and every S6 pupil is involved in at least one committee.”
