TRAVELLING gangs have been targeting businesses in the Borders, community councillors heard this week.

Police revealed they received three reports of the theft of alcohol in three days from the Co-op stores in Kelso last month.

Meanwhile, it has emerged, that police have confiscated alcohol from youngsters in the town over the past month and written warning letters to their parents.

Elsewhere, a bicycle was stolen from Inchmyre, a lawnmore was taken from a garage at Bowmont Street, a car was vandalised outside the Tait Hall and police received a report of a male selling televisions in Kelso town centre which, when turned on, were found to be “inoperable”.
