KELSO Laddie Ross Henderson will help unveil the completed streetscape works in the town’s Square today.

Members of the public are encourage to attend the ceremony at 8.30pm, which will see Ross unveil the new Square and uncover a newly-carved Kelso crest at the entrance to the Town Hall. Kelso Pipe Band will also perform and local writer Derek Robeson will provide a short speech to mark the occasion.

Earlier in the day, the Horsemarket Business Centre will also be officially opened, this time by Scottish Borders Council’s Executive Member for Planning and Environment, Councillor Ron Smith. The £2million streetscape works were developed with Kelso Stakeholders Group and funded by Scottish Borders Council (SBC), Historic Scotland and the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The new £800,000 Horsemarket Business Centre was also supported by SBC and the Heritage Lottery Fund, as well as the European Regional Development Fund.

Following the ceremony, members of the public can take a look at the new business centre building between 6pm and 7pm.
