ONE of the leading event catering firms in the Scottish Borders, The Orde Food Company, is celebrating this week after picking up its third national award in 12 months.

The company received a Commendation in the Best Caterer category of the Scottish Event Awards at a glittering ceremony in the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow on Wednesday 7 October.

Run by The Drum magazine in association with EventScotland, the Scottish Event Awards celebrate the very best of the Scottish event industry and big winners on the night also included The Ryder Cup and MTV Europe.

The Orde Food Company was commended for its creation of a dream wedding for a Perthshire couple which took place in a remote wildflower meadow.

This is the company’s third award in less than a year.  Last December, the business was named Best Scottish Rural Family Business of the Year and earlier this year, its Head Chef, Craig Gibb gained a Silver award in the Scottish Chef of the Year contest.

The Orde Food Company is run by brothers Justin and Christian Orde, the second generation of the Orde family to be involved in the business, which was started by their mother, Gill in 1994.

The business currently employs 18 full and part-time staff as well as around 30 casual staff and organises a variety of events in the South of Scotland and Northern England ranging from weddings and corporate events to dinners and family celebrations.  It also operates visitor centre café restaurants and event catering services at a number of historic houses.

Justin Orde, Managing Director, The Orde Food Company, said: “We’re absolutely delighted with this latest award win which recognizes the creativity, professionalism and passion we bring to all of our events.  We have a fantastic team of employees who work exceptionally hard to help us deliver the highest standards and would like to thank them, our suppliers and our wonderful clients for choosing to work with us to achieve such amazing results.”
