A THIRD man has appeared in court in connection with an armed robbery on a store in the Borders.

Two staff members, including a pregnant woman, were assaulted with what police described as an electrical implement before a sum of money was stolen.

The raid happened at the Original Factory Shop in Bowmonet Street, Kelso, on Monday, October 4.

Anthony Kimber, 42, from Surrey, appeared in private at Jedburgh Sheriff Court today(Tuesday) when he faced three counts of assault and robbery as well as possession of a prohibited weapon.

He made no plea or declaration and was fully committed for trial.

Kimber was remanded in custody by Sheriff Peter Paterson.

Two other men James Irvine, 53, and 36-year-old Steven Modeste, both from Newtown St Boswells, have previously appeared in court on similar charges and are currently remanded in custody.
