WITNESSES are being sought to help find a man acting suspiciously in Kelso.

The male was seen within the Bowmont Street area of the town, in possession of a torch at around 11.50pm on Wednesday, April 18.

Police believe he was attempting to enter homes in the area, however, nothing has been stolen from any of the properties.

Inquiries are ongoing to trace the man.

Inspector Tony Hodges from Galashiels Police Station said: "At this time we do not have a description of the male so we are keen to hear from anyone who may have gotten a look at him and can help us identify him.

"In addition, anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity within Bowmont Road on Wednesday evening, or who has any further information relevant to this investigation should also contact police immediately.."

Those with information can contact police via 101 and quote incident number 4649 of April 18. Alternatively, an anonymous report can be made to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
